The Rocky mountain spotted fever is a non-communal disease. (Does not spread from person to person). It is more common in the southern eastern states and in the mid-atlantic. It comes from the bite of an infected tick. You can get it in anytime of year as long as it’s warm. It’s most common between April through September.
The RMSF (Rocky mountain spotted fever) is carried by the RM wood tick, brown dog tick, and the american dog tick. People at risk of RMSF are people where ticks are common or if their in the southeastern states. Some of the sign effects are a non-itchy rash that appears 7-10 days after the bite, fever, headache, sensitivity to light, stomach ache,
