Rock N Roll History

Rock n’ Roll is a worldwide known music genre. It originated in the 50’s with the king, Elvis Presley. It was a fast-paced music that was known to include guitars, basses, drums and even piano, at times. When this movement originated, there were a lot of great musicians like Bill Haley, who wrote “Rock around the clock”, or Chuck Berry that wrote a lot of great classic rock songs like “Johnny B. Goode”, plus there was Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. Later, came rock bands like Fast Dominoes and The Rolling Stones, but one band was able to demark themselves. This band is, The Beatles and in my opinion they were the greatest band of all time. I will proceed to develop my thoughts on why The Beatles were the most successful band in the history of music.

First, a brief history lesson about this great band. The Beatles, were an English rock band created in Liverpool in 1960. It was formed of four musicians, Paul McCartney who played the bass, John Lennon, and George Harrison who both played guitars and last but not least, there was Ringo Starr playing the drums. They always managed to make all the sounds mix together so well. Plus, they always made the music so rich and filled with different instruments to make the tune even more pleasing to the ear. In the song “Penny Lane”, McCartney, narrates a calm walk in the street of the same name. This tune is a creative masterpiece because of the complexity of the melody. There are steady piano chords, played by McCartney, then there is the inclusion of brass and woodwinds to help make the scene seem calming and soothing. Plus, there is inclusion of a piccolo trumpet solo, which makes the ending of this tune so complex, yet calming. However, the only way to understand my words is to listen to the song itself and see for
