Rock Movement Elasticity

Decent Essays
How elasticity could change how a rock moves? We tested 16, 19, and 32. We thought that the higher elasticity would make the rock move faster, but it would take more years. We tested the 100 grit block with all the elasticity. First we will test the 16, then 19, and finally 32.

First we tested the 16 with the 100 grit block. The space between were about 2 years apart, each time. Sometimes it would move every 3 or 4 years. Are test takes place between 78 years. To get to its final place it took a very long time.

Second, we tested the 19 with the 100 grit. The space between movements were about 4 to 7 years. This longest time between movements were about 9 years. The test took place between 78 years. To get to the place it is today.

Mass wasting, also known as slope movement or mass movement, is the geomorphic process by which soil, sand, regolith, and rock move downslope typically as a mass, largely under the force of gravity, but frequently affected by water and water content as in submarine environments and mudslides When the gravitational force acting on a slope exceeds its resisting force, slope failure (mass wasting) occurs. The slope material's strength and cohesion and the amount of internal friction between materials help maintain the slope's stability, and are known collectively as the slope's shear strength. The steepest angle that a cohesionless slope can maintain without losing its stability is known as angle of repose. When a slope possesses this angle, its…

The author clearly states that the “wind rocks the car“ wind is oftentimes used to symbolize change or chaos, hence the 3rd definition listed. Fusion rock is a term frequently used in music to classify songs containing characteristics of the rock genre with another style of music, for example African or jazz music. Sister Rose, performed by renowned band Sky, and Smooth performed by the popular band Santana are both strong examples of fusion rock. While Sky successfully manages to fuse two very opposite styles of music, rock and classical, Santana unites rock and Latin music together bringing a spicy, hot dance number. Both pieces achieve a fantastic product of fusion rock through the use of a variety of musical elements and characteristics from each individual genre of music. Harmony and chord progressions, instrumentation and compositional techniques were all considered by the artists to skilfully fuse the genres together.…
