Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados, who was soon to be an amazing singer, dancer, and actress. Rihanna has always loved music and singing, especially when she was going through the rough time of her parents getting divorced (isbel 6). At age 7 she would perform concerts for her neighbors (isbell 7).
To truly understand Rihanna, one must understand her early life. Robyn Rihanna Fenty also known as Rihanna, was born on February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael Parish, Barbados (isbell 5). Although she was born there she was raised in Bridgetown (isbell 6) . Rihanna's parents, Monica Braithwaite and Ronald Fenty raised 6 kids, 4 girls and 2 boys (isbell 6). Rihanna's father struggled with alcohol and drug addiction which lead to many family problems for Rihanna at a very young age (isbell 6). To keep her mind off of all of her family issues she started singing and getting into music, mainly Soca, Reggae, American Pop, and she loved artists like Bob Marley, Whitney Houston, and Madonna. Now that rihanna has been around for awhile, and still continues to make wonderful music, she spends most of her time in the studio (isbell 18). She also tries to devote as much as she can to charity. For example she performs charity concerts for people with cancer and HIV/AIDS, and even created her own charity called the believe foundation (isbell 18&19). Rihanna is one of the most successful young women in the music business. In all of the years she's been in the music business she’s scored at least 4 no.1 songs from january-december, also one her song desperado (2016) is rihanna’s 32nd song to hit no.1. She had seven no.1 songs in her album ANTI, she reigns number 1 in the top 40 during the first 25 years of the survey, and has won over 5o awards in all her years of music.
