Robots in the military are the future of warfare. These robots will turn this era into a new style of warfare where wars are fought behind a computer. Robots used as soldiers have many more benefits over a common human soldier. Even now they are saving the lives of many American soldiers by finding bombs and performing surveillance. Their is a push to create a soldier like robot that will fight our wars and save Americans lives. These robots in the military are not the golden ticket although, many believe the robots to be unsafe and unethical. Many also believe it is not the place of a robot to be fighting our wars and will never do as well as a common soldier. A hot topic in today 's world is drones. Many people think it immoral for Robots to be killing humans, also their are many questions on if a robot could goes haywire and kills US citizens. There is much technological improvement that is needed to be made before these military robots are deployed. One of the largest problems is having the robots travel over rocky terrain. Scientist have not yet made it possible for a robot to travel over this terrain practically. Also there 's many questions about the way the robots will look like. Some of the more popular ideas are tank like robots, smaller four legged robots like dogs, and the most popular and problematic a human like robot. Also, some fear that robots would not be able to meet the emotional level as a human would. Their are complicated and hard decisions that are all over the battlefield during a time of war. Robots will never be able to think for themselves meaning that they will not be able to make these decisions.The military is taking all precautions to ensure safety: “We will not entrust a robot with that decision until we are confident they can make it.” Robots in the military have many problem which will be worked out in …show more content…
The use of these robots will save human life and protect the us from invading countries. They have the ability to successfully perform missions that common soldiers are unable to do. These robots will cost less, be more effective, not hesitate, and replace the common soldier. Moral issues surround robot usage in the military and what they should be used for. Many believe it is not the place for a robot to be killing humans. There are also certain abilities, like not being able to think for itself and problem solve, that many people fear. Drones are a necessity in the military and already play a huge part in it. They have the ability to do things that land based robots and planes can. Robots in the military will become a necessity and will replace the common soldier and change the era of warfare
