On occasion, they define their music as “Poverty Rock”, because their recordings are such low quality due to a lack of funds. They are hoping to find a better recording technique and equipment to use for their next album.

Robotrip has a few musical influences including Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mac Demarco. “Most of the music we are writing for the album we want to record next are similar to Halicalf, The Basement, and Title Fight”, said Joe Smith. They tend to compare their sound to the different artists, yet they make themselves unique by writing their own creative lyrics. Through time, their influences tend to change considering new artists and changing taste in music.

Although they have only been together for a year, they have had numerous performances at locations across Cleveland. Most recently, Robotrip performed at the Grog Shop located in Cleveland Heights on Feb. 4th. Others include The Fantasy in Lakewood, The Blank Slate in Elyria, and a few basement shows.

Throughout each chapter, Wilson manages to clearly exploit the issues that encompass the constant battle of technology versus human nature. Each chapter contains a divergent collection of characters that specifically detail events from the apocalypse, all deriving from a broad pool of ethnic backgrounds. This book portrays apocalyptic stories from an Afghanistan soldier telling a scarring war story of a destructive SAP robot, to a toddler who has the unattainable ability to speak with toys.
