My preliminary exposure to robotic surgery began as a medical student during a clinical clerkship in Urology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia University under Dr. James McKiernan.

I was amazed on the positive impact of robotic surgery and became interested in exploring the potential that robotic surgery could have on the evolution of surgery.

My career eventually path shifted towards General Surgery, completing my residency in the Universidad de Chile and then Thoracic Surgery, coming to Toronto for Fellowship in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Toronto.

During my Thoracic Surgery Fellowship in Toronto General Hospital, I became acquainted with surgical robotics once again. My experience has involved assisting
