Our story begins with Murphy who just transferred to the detroit police department. With a slight no nonsense stereotypical personality he is the basic run of the mill police officer. After a run in with armed robbers, Murphy is ripped apart by the criminal’s shotgun firing squad in a very over the top manner. What follows is Murphy’s forced transformation into the crime fighting hero Robocop. The transformation was so intense that the man named Murphy seemed to be no more. Omnicorp the company that created Robocop wiped his memory so that he could never rebel against them. It starts when Robocop starts to have flashbacks and memories of his past life as Alex Murphy. As it progresses Robocop ignores his programming and takes action for his own purposes to solve the mystery of his own murder. Many scenes enforce his emotional turmoil of utter confusion. There is an especially good scene where Robocop is walking through his family’s old house and begins to have flashbacks of his son and wife. Through the help of a former police partner he discovers the full details of his own past, like how his wife moved on after he died. They share a touching scene where Robocop says that he can feel them but can’t remember any about his family. At the end of the of the movie Robocop is asked what his name is and he very calmly says, “Murphy.” The scene showed Alex Murphy’s acceptance of this new life as
