Based on the impacts of the nursing shortage above, some recommendations from the group of researchers at Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to resolve insufficient staffing such as
Creating cultures for retention such as applying the characteristic of Magnet hospital concept. This program established by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) in the ANA. The purpose of this program is empowering nurses by providing support and management training to nurse executives. Recognizing nurses' achievements and contributions. Promoting and reinforcing the active collaboration and efficient communication between nurses and other professions in the hospital to improve patient outcomes and enhancing nursing care and morale (Grace, 2008).
