Robert Sternberg, American Professor of Human Development at Cornell University, created a theory that can understand the survivability of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. The theory was called the Triangular theory of love which has three main components in an interpersonal relationship: passion, intimacy, and commitment. Before he created his theory of love, Robert is an expert researcher on love and spent an abundance of his career researching on the topic of love. Intimacy can be explained by having a strong connection with someone whether its emotions or feelings. To clarify, intimacy is being emotionally close to your partner and having this bond that cannot be separated. Intimate love can be seen by people trying to cheer up their partner, communicating each other, and helping one if needed.
