Robert Munsch's Love You Forever

The way I’ve read in the past and how I read now, have changed. It’s changed a lot. When I was a wee lad I used to read a lot. I think I read so because my mom would make me read the same book with her, all the time. Love You Forever by Robert Munsch is the book and if I had my own copy, I think I’d read it on my own. This book had meant so much to me because of the story that was outside the pages, the story of the bond between my mother and I. But I believe that after reading that book so much and spending so much time reading with her, it became easy. Reading was easy, I read books all the time. I mainly read The Magic Tree House series. I actually remember that in the second grade, I went to Lexington Elementary, my teacher had given me …show more content…
I don’t know why it’s such a blur. Here, I’ll just say that it was easy writing as a kid because the curriculum level at the school I went to during elementary was low and very easy to stay atop on everything. Now from fifth to eighth grade, I honestly feel like each class was the same. Very repetitive, just reading stories out of the book or writing in a journal. So on a daily basis I think that we wrote in a daily journal, which I guess I got to used but I’m not sure. I wish that I could remember what happened in english class during those years so that I could have more content to add to this essay. So I guess I don’t hate writing as much as reading because I can tolerate writing. Sometimes I enjoy writing about things I love, like to do, things about me. Writing isn’t a hard thing to do, especially now that we type more now than we do actually writing. Which, I’m not complaining because typing is easier on my hands. My hands don’t cramp up or lock up like they would if I was writing with a pen or pencil for a long time. If I were to choose either to write or to read, I would most definitely choose

I am going to write about my Reading and Me, by Bailey Clutter. I have never enjoyed writing because I don't think I am good writer. I never want to sit down and write what ever is on my mind. English is one of my toughest subjects because since I’m not good at it, I haven’t taken the time to learn it properly, which makes it hard. In 8th grade, we were assigned a Research Paper. We were suppose to write at least 6-8 pages.…

This allowed to express our ideas and grow as a writer. Moving onto my first year in high school my English teacher, Mrs P., made me dread reading and writing. She made everything into a wrong or right answer with no discussion. She made reading into a task that I dreaded. Most of the books that she picked out for us to read didn’t interest me.…

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

My Path to Literacy For a very long time writing and reading was a huge struggle for me. I was one of those students who was very intelligent, but disliked reading tremendously and was often told, “You write the way you talk”. The older I grew the more I realized that my struggles with writing was due to my lack of reading. I was aware of my issues but because it became a part of my writing habits it was hard to adapt to anything different. I wanted to be like everyone else and be a good authentic and productive writer but it seemed almost impossible.…

To be completely honest I have mixed feelings about writing and I don’t really have any memorable experiences that made me feel this way, it is just the experiences that I have had with the subject while trying to apply it. I struggle with what to write down mostly and creativity in general and I don’t really excel at any part of it. If I were to say I “excel” at anything it would be revising my work and adding to it. At the end of the semester I hope that I have relearned some key writing elements that lack of practice has caused me to lose.…

To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was. I didn’t feel like I had any freedom to stray away from the format that the AP graders expected because I didn’t want that to affect my score.…

From the Mesopotamian civilization to the present day civilization, writing has taken a place of importance in our daily lives; something I have always struggled with. Through school the most difficult subject that I have always struggled with is English. Growing up my first language was Spanish due to the fact that my parents do know much English. My parents were never able to read to me in English preventing me from hearing and seeing the English language; it was not until I entered elementary school that I was exposed to English. This has contributed to my difficulties in English courses throughout my education.…
