Robert Morris University Phonathon Case Study

At the Robert Morris University Phonathon, there have been notable issues with experienced Colonial Caller performances. Colonial Callers are current undergraduate students that seek financial support for Robert Morris University. Colonial Callers primarily solicit support for the “RMU Student Fund” by personally calling alumni, parents of current students, faculty, staff members, and general friends of the university. At the Robert Morris University Phonathon, there is a lack of professionalism and a lack of formality. All Colonial Callers are provided with a script that they are to strictly follow in order to increase their chances of securing a donation. However, many of the advanced Colonial Callers termed “Veteran Callers,” do not closely adhere to any part of the Colonial Caller Calling Script. This new program will be termed the “Advanced Caller Training & Incentive Program” (ACT-IP). This will be an educational program that will strengthen old and existing skills while eliminating any new and negative habits. The Advanced Caller Training & Incentive Program will also offer an incentive component that will positively reinforce proper calling techniques. Individuals that have been with the Robert Morris University Phonathon for over a year will be required to take part in the program and failure to do so will result in employment termination.
