to try to work with “Mr. Johnathan Miller”, but he is a very hard person to work with. We have had numerous scheduled appointments in which majority of them were canceled by Mr. Miller or cut short because he had me meet him at the circuit courthouse in Elkton, MD on the days he had trials. He then would reschedule with me, “Promising we’d have more time to go over my case”, but again the same thing would occur, or “He would cancel and make an excuse why he could not show up for our meetings.” This has been a common theme when it comes to dealing with Mr. Miller. I have reached out to the public defender’s office on several occasions for help, but Mr. Henderson has refused to do anything in regards to Mr. Miller and has yet to even call me back after I have left him several messages.…

In 1987 The Joint Commission (TJC) started developing a set of performance measures; which is now called the ORYX initiative, and are now known today as core measures (Commission, The Joint). The ORYX initiative offered significant flexibility for organizations to meet specific accreditation guidelines, which inherently caused a dilemma in that it was unable to compare data across several systems and between different measures (Commission, The Joint). By using the input from several different clinical professionals within the scope of healthcare, the TJC addressed this issue through institution of the use of standardized, evidenced based practice; known as a core measure (Commission, The Joint). One of the initial hospital core measure sets…

Moving Beyond Data Access to QI Action 1. Given the situation, what are the apparent barriers to using incident reporting systems for QI? One of the biggest challenges or barriers faced when using incident reporting systems for QI purposes is the resistance among physicians and nurses to the changes being implemented, because they can perceive the new protocols as robotic and not personal, customized medicine, and argue that adhering too strictly to quality guidelines will take away their ability to use their judgment and experience. Nurses can also complain about additional paperwork and bureaucracy related to new protocols.…

Christopher Mackay, modern historian, has written a large number of works regarding the Roman republic, including 'Ancient Rome: A military and political history', and the 'Breakdown of the Roman republic', whilst managing to depict the collapse of the republic. Whilst he covers events that happened thousands of years ago, with his works being published in the 2000's, his works can still be highly regarded, due to his reputable education, studying at University of Michigan and Harvard university. Mackay views the first triumvirate as 'incorrect and misleading', giving the audience an insight into lack of unity, in which the title suggests. Unlike ancient historians, such as Plutarch and Suetonius who merely tell the story of the First Triumvirate,…

I am also very accepting, patient, tolerant, and inclusive, and I will make sure everyone gets treated the same as everyone else. I am very good in school academically. I have straight A's in every class, I have been to the state geography bee and the regional spelling bee, and I help other people in my classes if they need help.…

In summary, Miller’s intervention is quintessential ethical leadership. Miller was extraordinarily successful in de-escalating Mobley and Ward’s aggression and defusing the bystanders’ antagonisation. He swiftly adapted to the bystanders’ mockery and had overcome their reaction by incorporating their disapproval into his articulation. Miller wedged the liminal space in-between Mobley and Ward’s social identity and isolated the discursive interplay within their moral agency. Miller rendered the scenario, redressed it, then positioned it toward the possibility for alternative modes of reasoning and courses of action.…

The health goal that I decided to accomplish was to run a mile in 8 minutes or less by December 1st. This particular health goal was chosen for the reason that I felt my cardiovascular endurance could use improvement in comparison to my sprinting speed. It was a weak point that I want to address because when sprinting, I could not maintain my speed for long periods of time or distances. In addition, I plan to join the track team in the spring and hope to prepare myself for it. I made two action plans to alternate between for each week from research on what was an effective workout to increase my cardiovascular endurance.…
