Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken,” is a descriptive poem about life and the struggles of choosing the path in life that will be best for the narrator. There are many times in life where decisions that are made will affect the rest of a person’s life. However, the narrator of this poem has reached a point in his life where he cannot go any farther without making a decision that will change the rest of his life. Throughout the poem Frost uses symbolism. A fork in the road that represents two choices, to describe a difficult life decision that the speaker is faced with and his thoughts as he makes the potential life changing choice.
