Acquainted With The Night is a poem written by Robert Frost. When first reading the poem it may seem depressing when actually it is not. Mr. Frost uses imagery, metaphors, and symbolism to describe events that have taking place. Mr. Frost uses imagery to describe the feeling of walking the city at night. He illustrates the sound of a shout or scream, not "calling him nor saying goodbye", you can imagine raindrops on his skin as he talks about walking back and forth in the rain, he characterizes looking down the saddest city lane and passing the watch man on his nightly beat.
