Robert Frost Robert Frost once said “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” Robert Frost was an American poet His unique work is loved by many people. Frost is a popular poet, and was honored frequently during his lifetime and received four pulitzer prizes. One of Robert Frost’s most famous poems is The Road Not Taken. Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874, in San Francisco. He lived with his father, William Prescott Frost Jr., his mother, Isabelle Moodie, and his sister, Jeanie. After the death of Robert Frost’s father, they together moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts. During Robert’s high school years he got interested in writing and poetry. He enrolled at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and later at Harvard University in Boston. After he left school, he worked as a teacher, a cobbler, and an editor of the Lawrence Sentinel. His first published poem, “My Butterfly”, appeared on November 8, 1894 in the New York Newspaper The Independent. In 1895, Frost married Elinor Miriam White and together they moved to England in 1912 after they tried and failed at farming in New Hampshire.
