Have you ever wondered about being a general or what they did? Robert E Lee was known for being in the Civil War as a commander. Lee served in eight battles. Lee served as a commander for three years. He was held up as a hero for taking over a war and having a victory. He was apart of many battles. When Lee was 18 he enrolled at West Point Military Academy. His occupation was a General. His highest rank achieved was a General, confederate states of America. On June 1, 1862 he took control of the Army of Northern Virginia and drove back the Union Army during the Seven day battle near Richmond. When Lee served as a General he helped win some wars.
