Robert Grosseteste was born in 1175 in Suffock England. He was educated at oxford held a position with William DE Verd as chandler of oxford from 1215 to 1221 was given ecclesiastical (something to do with the church) preferment and sinecures (job with little or no work but giving the holder status of financial benefit). He resigned in 1232. In the years 1230 to 1235 was first lecturer in theology and studded Aristotle.
