I was expecting as well. I also didn’t realize how often they would all come in to play into everyday life. This concept is very interesting to me, but I can also see how people could be very torn as to if these matters were rational or non-rational.
When it comes to reciprocity, I feel the biggest reason this is non-rational is because it just simply isn’t fair. Some people are more capable of doing for others, and for someone to be able to use that as manipulation towards someone less fortunate is morally wrong to me. I think this tactic could easily be used to manipulate people, but …show more content…
You are much easier manipulated in small instances at a time instead of all at once, so once you start something making small steps, like investments for example you are much more likely to spend if you are already decently invested. And the same as the rest I feel this is non-rational too.
The liking factor or feeling like you should do something because that person is important to you or you just because you generally like them. For example, when a celebrity endorses something on television, you never know if they actually use it but since you’re a fan, you will more than likely buy and they get paid for tricking you! This I also believe is non-rational.
Authority may be the most manipulatable of all, considering it is much easier for people in power to gain what they want. The authority tactic, would be you feeling obligated to do something because someone in a position of power said you should. For example, if you knew someone had an extensive education, you would be more inclined to listen to them than a regular individual (trust me, I’m a
