On the other hand, there are plenty of respected philosophers that believe Descartes’s look on our mind and body is wrong; these people call themselves Anti-Cartesians. Sir Peter Strawson, a very well-known Anti-Cartesian stated, the mind is…

The Butchery and Dissection of a Unicorn This will be a paper discussing the proper practice for butchering and dissecting a unicorn. I am very much aware that the belief in these animals has waned greatly in the last couple of centuries, but I can tell you from personal experience that a unicorn doesn’t care if you believe in it any more than you care if the unicorn believes in you. Dispatching the beast should be done in a quick, humane way to avoid unnecessary injury to the internal organs of both the animal and yourself. While there are many ways to dispatch these creatures, care should be taken to avoid puncturing anything on the animal below the neck, as this may spill the contents of specific organs into the abdominal cavity and cause…

Snow can be destroyed by the presence of heat. I feel we can make the same argument for the soul. Even though the soul cannot admit death, it seems that it should be able to be destroyed in its presence. There does not seem to me to be any reason why the same logic could not be applied. Socrates refutes this by suggesting that what is deathless is also indestructible; therefore, the soul cannot be destroyed.…
