Robert Alldredge's Post Analysis

Decent Essays
I agree with the response to Robert Alldredge’s post. How do we control this and most importantly how can we influence the negative information that the media broadcasts? I think if, we as a society, will stand against all the negative media and voice our opinions to them we will get some type of response. Initially, it may not produce the result that we want; however, with persistence, we might eventually be able to better the situation. Moreover, we should also show our children that we must all contribute positive behaviors in order to minimize the negativity. We must all lead by example and show others that we do want to see our society rise from all the darkness that has come over us, which will not be an easy task.

The only way people can fight against it and try to slow it down is to ignore it and not follow what it resembles. The media controls our lives through every outlet and resource we obtain it has consumed us and we hunger for more. The only way to change how media does business is within ourselves it begins with us not revolving our lives around what celebrity did what or what new fashion item is popular. We as consumers need to take a different aspect on how we live our lives and promote awareness for the greater good and become role models for the youth rather then who has more followers on Instagram. Ultimately the only way to change the media is to express yourself in a way that makes you comfortable and happy and not what they…

Response to Cory’s Post It is impossible to know the things that go in individuals’ souls unless they speak them out. As a person grows old, s/he experiences many things, some with a positive influence on their lives, while others with negative influence. Some people are quick to judge others depending on their behavior, not having taken a chance to know that might be the reason for them to behave that way. It is indeed wrong, where one should not conclude an issue not having known what might be the problem.…

Malcolm X once said “If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing. ”The news often belittles black individuals more than white individuals, it is an enormous issue in the black community. Society has been mentally conditioned to feel that most dark individuals have negative conduct. The media uncovers inclination by just depicting black people as individuals who are not as much as white people by demonstrating their poor and broken side of their gathering of people. The media is also responsible for displaying a substandard side of black people rather than showing them succeed in life.…

Breaking news, “In recent events, a white male was seen outside making obvious gestures towards a black male.” This is one of the many ways the media shows its interest in certain events. In fact, voting is often considered a duty not a privilege. Unfortunately, there are only two major political parties, which do not always provide the voters with candidates whose beliefs and values coincide with the majority of U. S. citizens. The United States is one of the most progressive countries in the world. Yet when it comes to politics, change is minimal.…

Instead the news is comprised of the bad things in the world; the things that make people stock up for an apocalypse, become shut ins, and force people to become paranoid about every little thing. It’s not that there aren’t happy things happening around the world, but the media knows that people react more to things that evoke fear. Business Week says, “But make no mistake that whatever you choose to eat, do, or believe in, people will keep trying to scare you.” This quote shows that there is no way to get away from the hysteria and fear mongering. Looking at the news today, there are several articles and posts about the Zika Virus and ISIS.…
