Robbie Ainsworth Robbie Ainsworth was born September 29, he was a veteran in the Vietnam War. In his years of service, he was in the U.S. Navy where he served four years in various countries. Some of the places that he visited were as follows: Mediterranean, Scotland, England, France, Spain, and Greece. In addition, he also served in several bases around the United States. Some of the domestic bases were based in Illinois, Florida, and California. His ranking in the Navy was an E4 Petty Officer of the Second Class. Part of his job detail included being in charge of several men who were ranked lower. He worked on aircraft and obtained training as an electrician. While serving in the Navy, he was awarded multiple honors; however, he stated that he had trouble remembering the exact titles of the honors. He was deployed when he was only 19 years old, but the longest that he was ever …show more content…
He also talked about missing his family and friends. During the interview, I asked what was his most valuable life lesson. He responded, “There is no place like home. You really understand the meaning of that quote when you are gone for so long with very little communication.” He said that he thinks technology has probably helped with this and that young men and women now are better able to stay in touch with their loved ones at home. However, he said that he formed long-lasting relationships with the men that were in service with him. To this day, he still keeps in contact with his friend, Larry Cordle, who is a famous Nashville singer/songwriter of country music. In his opinion, he believes that we owe an obligation to serve our country. He thinks the country has changed since his service and that it has become excessively liberal and that we do not honor God as a country.
