The lost colony was a failed attempt from Queen Elizabeth to settle on Roanoke Island, which is located in present day North Carolina. There were many problems with the settlers, they aren´t use to living like that and the colonists were not very clever. The colonists also antagonised the Indians by kidnapping them and holding them hostage. The colony was low on supplies, so John White sailed back to England for supplies. He thought it would take 3 months, but it took 3 years. When John White came back, the colonists were gone and the word, “Croatoan” was carved into a fence and the word, “CRO” was carved into a tree.
