Roanoke Island Start your introduction here Did you know that the first english colony was Roanoke Island? Many people did not know because they mysteriously disappeared. John White left Roanoke Island only to come back to see no people in Roanoke Island. No trace of what happened to them and we still do not know the reason today.

Start your reason 2 Roanoke Island started by europeans settling North Carolina. With over 100 men settling. Then Eleanor Dare gave birth to the first English-speaking and after John White, the grandfather of that baby, was forced to return to England to gather supplies that they needed badly. John White was held for three years in England because of Spanish attacks.
