Leaving all of our friends with one last final summer of all hanging out before we go our separate ways for college in the fall. Sure, we knew we can hang out during breaks, but sometimes college separates you and your friends. So that’s why we really wanted to make this summer count. We decided a good way to spend the rest of our days with each other before the huge goodbye was to go on a vacation together. Taylor kept blaming herself the whole time and kept apologising over and over. Nobody could get any cell signal. We all saw a sign that said: “NEXT REST STOP 2 MILES.” We had nothing to lose so we all grabbed our pepper spray and headed down the road by foot. After what seemed like a 50 mile expedition we finally reached the little rest stop, to find out we were in Maryland. We called Roadside Assistance for some gas, and they said they would meet us at our car. By the time we got to the car they had just arrived. With our gas tank now full we were back on the road, with Taylor no longer behind the wheel. After all of this Sydni was not having it and just wanted to get to the beach ASAP. So she just volunteered to drive the rest of the way to South Carolina. Taylor felt so bad about the whole thing that she didn’t say another word the whole rest of the trip. “One for the Road” was quite the interesting story. For a person like me who enjoys small horror, not to much or too little, this is the perfect short story. Herb Tookey took most of my attention in the story. He was the “wise elder” of the group, he always knew what to do to help and gave information when needed. When trouble came he answered and helped.…

A good childhood is a fundamental aspect of a child's future; their happiness, health and how motivated they will be in life depends on how they were raised. A lack of proper nurturing may have dire effects. It is common for people to put up a front and act very confident, whilst truly having a very low self-esteem. People with a low self-esteem who have not been brought up correctly have a stronger possibility of being substance abusers. In Joseph Boyden's Three Day Road, Elijah Weesageechak lives a vastly troubled life, which ultimately leads to his demise.…

Meanwhile, poor Sarah was home worrying about me, and the weather, which appeared particularly nasty. Texas is where we learned the phrase “tornado watch.” In fact, when we left Texas to finish flight school in Fort Rucker, Alabama she said she would never live in Texas again. At the time, I was too worried about dying in a helicopter crash or failing the next phase and “washing out” to give her the attention she deserved. We were newlyweds, and she forgave me-…

Even though there are people I don’t get along with and it’s been quite the roller coaster of emotions, there’s nothing else in the world I would want to do more at this moment. So now, with only three shows left, I find myself realizing what a good move changing schools was, and that sticking out driving to Puyallup from February to June just for school from here lead to this, and that’s okay. I had to endure basically that hell of a school, because it was leading me to this, this school, these people, this is what I needed. Not people who hated me and pulled me down with them, not ones who sided with people who spread lies about me.…

Coming into Geneseo during the summer was something I was not looking forward to. I wanted to just jump into the school year and saw the summer as a waste of time. At the end of the summer I was wrong, and I at this point couldn’t be more thankful that I was able to be apart of it. Following with the INTD class into the school year I just saw it as another class that I just had to pass. What I didn't realize was how much I would learn about myself throughout the summer and fall semester.…

Out of all the decisions executed by you that I have observed from reading your story, there is no decision I disagree with more than your decision to lock your brother, Michel, in your closet. There is simply too much at stake; too dangerous to lock him in the closet, as there’s always a possibility that Michel would perish, and he infact, did. In connection to Irvine’s latest mindset lesson, the locking up of Michel was a disastrous high stakes mistake. The demise that Michel had suffered was a sluggish and dreadful way to die; a death from malnutrition, and dehydration. The text states, “In the back of the cupboard, she glimpsed the small lump of a motionless, curled-up body, then she saw the beloved little face, blackened, unrecognizable”…

People come and go, and it seems as if no one stays for that long. Summer is over and I have to live in this world where although it doesn’t look like it, I’m alone. Even though Meara and Kendall are next to me, Brody is in front of me, and Rachel is waving from the other side of the auditorium, I still feel alone.…

It was Fall in Queens, New York, and I was enjoying the remainder of my summer vacation with my friends Travis, Rakim, and Rajon. We got together almost every weekend and had fun in the Autumn breeze before school started in September. 2003 had seemed to be the perfect year, George W. Bush was president, the Spurs won the NBA championship, and the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. But, we were foolish in our adolescence and this summer turned out to be the most ludicrous vacation I had ever experienced in my 15 years. Travis, Rakim, Rajon, and I got ourself into godawful trouble that changed and strengthened our youthful minds for the better.…
