In the book Wonder by, RJ Palacio Auggie’s parents sent him to a public school. His parents definitely made the right decision to send Auggie to Beecher Prep. Sending Auggie to school has helped him in many different ways, such as understanding how people will react to seeing him, he will get friends going to school, and he becomes more independent. Therefore sending him to school is absolutely the best option for him. First of all, going to school is beneficial to August by, helping him grow up. Here is one example from page 36 in wonder. “I didn’t catch anyone staring or even noticing me or even noticing me. Only once did I look up to see some girls with their hands cupped over their mouths.” Attending Beecher Prep assisted August because it shows him how the people around him might react to seeing his face and it teaches how he should react back. The reason I say he should react back a certain way is because you don’t want to be mean back or be upset just ignore them. Another reason going to beecher Prep helps Auggie is he learns he doesn’t need to be treated like a baby from his mom anymore.”can you guys not kiss me a lot after graduation?, I asked quietly. It’s kind of embarrassing” This was a quote from page 293 of Wonder. Being treated like a baby will not help him be able to grow up. Not …show more content…

The notes to Jack were stupid, like:You stink big cheese! And nobody likes you anymore! I got notes like: Freak! And another that said: Get out of our school, orc! Even though he was bullied at the end it only made him stronger than the bully and along the way he made some really good

An evidence-informed generalist intervention that I would apply to Trent’s case would be a Mezzo approach. According to Ashman and Hull (2009), “Mezzo skills are those used to work with small groups” (p.22). The mezzo level approach would involve interacting with Trent’s family members, peers, and other adults a part of his life. Speaking with Trent’s family is an opportunity for a social worker to gain a perspective of the families and how they interact with Trent, this may also shed light to what may be really going on with Trent. Since Trent’s behavior has been poor and he is aggressive toward other children, intervening on the mezzo level would be significant for a social worker to be aware of the systems in his life.…
