Riverview Memorial Park Analysis

On Sunday June 4th, I went to a local community park called Riverview Memorial Park located in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. The Riverview Memorial Park is a stage that performers can use which the pastor did which provided benches on the ground facing the stage. There is also a big pavilion with benches as well for people to sit. At this park, my boyfriend’s pastor was having a gathering with music and some readings from poems and verses from the Bible. The purpose of this gathering was to have people from around the community come together for an hour and sit back and enjoy the atmosphere that surrounds us and try to start your new week on a good note with having God by your side. At first it was just my boyfriend, his family, I and the pastor setting up the music equipment. Then as the pastor started playing soft rock music from the 70s, people on the street near the park came walking over to see what was going on. The pastor welcomed them with a cheerful hello and a bottle of water as the music was playing in the background. …show more content…
as a way for people to relax and listen to some music while sitting out in the summer weather. He had a few wise words to have that came from the Bible and some inspiring quotes that he feels anyone can take away from it. One quote that stuck with me when he read some was this; “God said that you can be happy. Look at life differently, look at the beauty around you.” I feel that he is completely right about this. Even if you are having a bad day or something isn’t going the way you planned, you can always reflect on it and try to find the good in every situation. Just like the little things from being outside can make a difference when your having a bad today. Sitting outside listening to the river flow, the birds chirping, and the calm music and change your day around just like

On September 20th, the day of our picnic, God gave us a beautiful day filled with plenty of sunshine and cool breezes. So many of our brothers and sisters from other fraternity’s took part in our annual picnic and shared in Franciscan companionship. As I looked around the grounds of the friary and saw our Franciscan Charism flowing among those in attendance, I thought to myself this is what our Charism is all about, sharing, loving, caring, allowing the Holy Spirit to move in us and through others. Thanks to all for the wonderful job in pulling this picnic together.…

Even in the midst of shock and disbelief they needed a visible reminder of God’s presence. There were no words to fix or even begin to explain the horror of their grief but my mere presence helped to point them to God’s never-failing love and presence in the midst of the worst day of their lives. When I returned home from that emotionally and spiritually exhausting visit, I immediately walked the prayer labyrinth in my backyard. As I walked and foolishly prayed for the “right words to say”. God reminded me (with a fat raindrop to the top of my head) that I was not alone, the family was not alone; God was present with us in the tears, grief and the subsequent anger and doubt after a loss of a young life filled with so much potential.…

That next year, I was suspended seven times in school, run-ins with the police, and any other kind of trouble I could get evolved in. One day, my Pastor pulled me aside and talked to me, about how what I do now will affect me later on make me into someone I don’t want to be. Ever since then, he filled that void of a father I never had. Every boy wants that fatherly, manly figure in their life, and he was that figure that I would just watch and want to be like after that day. He never did “go throw the ball out back” with me, he is a very busy man, but to know he loves me and cares what I do with my life, is enough to fill that void in my heart.…

On the above date and time I was conducting a special patrol of waterfront Park. While conducting a check of Waterfront Park, I was approached by two city residents. Both residents advised me that they observed a blond female subject "passed out" on her driveway, located at 8715 Old Post Road. The residents stated that we probably all knew who the subject was because of all the trouble she has caused her grandparents. I immediately notified dispatch of the situation and I responded to 8715 Old Post Road to attempt to locate.…

I was absolutely mind boggled by the reactions that I perceived from the stage! I saw my tough and not-so-sensitive dad sobbing, my non-believer friend attentive, and the rest of the congregation worshipping with me. I got my first standing ovation. I was so proud to take it in with my fellow praise team members. Come to find out, by practicing with my team in front of people, we influenced them to ask our praise team leader, “What is so different about these kids?”…

It’s very strange how one experience or choice you make in your life can change the rest of your life that follows that event, would you then in turn change these decisions you made. Such as your what if your mom conceived you not on the knowing basis. What if everyone was telling her not to because she was to be a single mom and that’s not a world a child should be born into, but then what if she challenged this belief that she grew up with. This then in turn affected all her choices later in life, but then vice versa what if she didn't challenge this belief and stuck with what she knew. This may be of the more extreme choices in life that some people must make but we all have that certain time in our life that comes where we must break away and make…

Every culture has its specific traditions associated with transitioning from childhood to adulthood. Various cultures sometimes share similar traditions like marriage and the importance of growing facial hair to show that you are becoming an adult. Calvary Commission, the seminary that I stayed at, is located a few miles out of town on a land that seems to never end. I could walk miles and still find myself to be on Calvary Commission’s property. The first day I was there, my group and I went on a little hike up to the prayer chapel, which sat on the top of a hill, surrounded by trees, and a bonfire pit stood a few feet away. This was my group’s first real exposure to how great the people at Calvary Commission are.…
