Riverdale Character Analysis

Season one of Riverdale by far exceed my expectations, I was expecting this Teen Drama and Mystery to be much like all the others I have viewed. This teen drama blew others such as Pretty Little Liars out of the water. Drama and mystery wrapped into one is attention grabbing to viewers. The bond between the characters is what makes this teen drama and mystery different in many aspects. Riverdale is struck with strategy when the son of one of the wealthiest families in town is murdered. This star football player and popular young man was loved by many in Riverdale which lead to the revealing of many suspicious events. Betty Cooper, Archie Andrews, and Jughead Jones pair together to uncover any suspicious events and discover more than they were …show more content…
After Betty being gone all summer she comes back expecting things to be the same as they were when she left yet she was let down. Betty realized she realized she wanted more than just a friendship with Archie. Archie and Betty went to Pop’s, a restaurant that was very popular in Riverdale, to catch up considering they had been away from each other all summer. They were discussing the work they did for their parents over the summer when the new girl from New York came in, Veronica Lodge. Betty was not aware that there was a new girl nor did she know she her and Archie were friends. Betty had feelings for Archie for quite sometime now but was holding back from telling him. She was relatively close to telling Archie that she liked him just as Veronica came in and rudely interrupted. This was a major let down after being exposed to the bond and unbreakable friendship Betty and Archie shared. Although this was a let down the rest of the show made up for it. With Veronica and Archie having an endearing relationship it made up for him and Betty not being involved in the same …show more content…
Such as, Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones and their complicated relationship. They had grew up going to school with each other but did not become close until they both joined the school newspaper in high school (The Blue and Gold). Jughead’s dad was a south side serpent which consisted of a tremendous amount of bikers. The South side serpents had a bad name due to the violence they were involved in. Betty had always been warned about this unacceptable group because they are trouble. Betty’s mother was evil and judgemental therefore she did not approve of Jughead. This judgment from Betty’s mother did not stop her from falling for Jughead. Betty did not care that his dad was a serpent. What she cared about was Jughead and how he treated her and that was nothing less than perfect. I love that Betty did not consider the opinion of others, including her mother's,, when being with Jughead. She was engaging in a relationship with Jughead because she loved him and that is all that mattered. This is an example of romance mixed in the teen drama a mystery. Not only are we entertained with romance from Betty and Jughead but also from Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge. Archie’s father and Veronica's mother had attempted to do business with one another in the past but the business failed causing them to not be fond of one another. Their parents try to pull them away from each other but their love was enough to

This is what he’s told himself, what he’s told Henry, Debbie” (Cain 288). That quote has importance because it displays that Gretchen has changed Archie’s way of thinking. She had him thinking it is “okay” to visit her every sunday in jail so he could get information about all the murders she has done. In anybody else's mind, including Archie’s family, it is not okay to see the serial killer that tortured a family member. Archie and his family think differently about his actions involving Gretchen, which separates Archie from his family mentally.…

No one knows exactly as to why Betty fell ill suddenly, but researchers believe that it could have been a disease such as “convulsive ergotism”. “Convulsive ergotism” is brought on by the consumption of rye that has been infected with ergot, (Ergot is caused by a fungus which invades developing kernels of rye grain) the modern drug of LSD derives from ergot (Linder, paragraph 5). About witchcraft people began to talk more when a 11-year-old Anne Putman, 17-year-old Mercy Lewis, and Mary Walcott began to show such unusual behavior. When the doctor, William Griggs failed Implemented treatment, he suggested that issues such as girls can like a supernatural origin.
