We moved to Cache Valley the summer before I started 5th grade. My parents found a house at the top of a hill on River Heights Boulevard. The backside of the house had large view windows that looked over “the island,” the river bottom and housing subdivisions. On an adjacent hill to the northwest was the Logan Temple. The little town of River Heights sat on the benches above the Logan river. It had a population of about 1,000 people.
The first day of school I met my teacher Wanda Peterson. I also met a bunch of new friends: Ondulyn, Carol, Susan, Maren, and Cathy. River Heights Elementary School was a two-block walk from home. There was a bit of a learning curve trying to fit in with the girls in 5th grade. I still loved to play
