Miller Williams once said, “Ritual is important to us human beings. It ties us to our traditions and our histories.” People in different religions generally participate in rituals that enforce their beliefs; as a Catholic, one of the most important religious ritual is the Sunday Mass. This practice is the foundation of Catholicism because it represents the Lord 's Supper. Traditionally, Mass is celebrated Sundays, but you can attend it on Saturday nights.There is also daily Mass but you should not miss the Sunday Mass. The process takes around an hour, but the duration may vary. Five out of the seven sacraments are performed during Sunday Mass: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, and Holy Matrimony. Catholics must follow certain guidelines to be able to participate in communion.
Catholic churches can be very different from each other, because their architecture varies among areas or cultures. When you look around in the church, most churches have stained windows of representations or saints. There are also statues; they are usually in the corners of the church and some have a place where you can light a candle. Lighting a candle in front of a statute is very common when you are praying or asking them for something, as well as thanking them.
