For a woman who pursues a career in the military, sexual violence is a very common experience. In a foreign country, surrounded and outnumbered by males, a female soldier is in danger of exploitation from higher level officers and fellow soldiers. Furthermore, the violent nature of men in the army, and the dislike of women leads to severe exploitation of women during wars. Approximately, “one-third of the women in the military have reported a rape or attempted rape” in 2003, but the numbers are much higher today due to the fact that female rape victims in the military are increasing (Hoppen). This point opposes the misconception that women are safe at work in the modern world since the exploitation of female soldiers is proliferating as the years go
