HUMAN CAPTIVIEY AND CHOICE MAKING Shirley was met by officials as she exited a bus in possession of drugs with her two children. Ron age 3, and Rosalind age 5, were taking into foster custody. Shirley was trafficking drugs for her boyfriend who was not with her at the time of the arrest. Shirley contacted her mother to help remove her children from custody. Prior to the arrest, both children were living at home and attending preschool. The arrest disturbed their daily routine and they were made to adapt a new normalcy. The oppression of being taking way from their mother and being placed in an unfamiliar setting has risk. Risk factors increase the probability of developing and maintaining problem conditions at later stages (Hutchison 2015). The appearance of their grandmother deceased some of those risk. Expressing true concern, grandma put forth the effort, time, and fuds to bring the children back to their home
