According to the article “Search for the Missing Sea Otters: An Ecological Detective Story” by Mary E. Allen and Mark L. Kuhlmann, the sea otter population has been decreasing at a rapid pace since the 1990’s in Aleutian, Alaska. This is demonstrated by article “What Could be the Cause of Decreasing Otter Numbers” which states that in 1997, the decline of the sea otter population had increased to about 90%. They hypothesize that the decrease in the sea otter population has been caused by their predator, the killer whale because the sea otter’s bodies do not come ashore. The evidence suggests that killer whales are eating the sea otters because in the text “What Predator Could be Causing the Large Decrease in Otter Numbers”…

Actually, it is an Island, with the freshwater lake which is about thirteen miles long and eight miles wide at one point, not a Sea as we as many think it is.” The way Matthew presents the scene, opening off with Περιπατῶν δὲ παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν (And while he was walking along the Sea), seems to imply that Jesus was simply walking by when he saw the men. It is possible though from the parallel accounts that there may have been some previous contact. " Simon and Andrew have already…

The reading states that the pollution hypothesis seemed the more likely cause for sea otter decline and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor states that predation hypothesis is the most likely cause of the sea otter decline and refutes each of the authors' reasons. First, the reading states that increasing in levels of chemicals could decrease the otters' resistance cause infections to life-threatening infections and death to sea otters. The professor opposes this point by saying that this point is weakened because people could not find dead sea otters on beaches.…

Many people argue that our world today is more destructive than in the past. It appears more evident through Internet, social media, and news stations. Destruction today thrives on the evils in society and the increased sense of anxiety about the world. The demolition of landmarks purposely, hostility in politics, and the genocide of various ethnic groups are all occurrences that appear in society. The many wars all over the world, the current refugee crisis, terrorist attacks caused by ISIS, the Taliban, Boko Haram, and even rogue killers like the San Bernardino shooters, all reflect a world confronting destruction on a daily basis.…

Luke 7:4-5 – 4When they came to Jesus, they appealed to him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy of having you do this for him, 5for he loves our people, and it is he who built our synagogue for us.” Continuing this image, Luke 7:4-5 depicts the way the Jewish elders view and describe the centurion. First it is written that, on behalf of the centurion, the elders appealed to Jesus earnestly (Lk 7:4). They do not recommend the centurion begrudgingly, but willingly and with the intent that his request actually be fulfilled. The elders then say to Jesus that the centurion is worthy of this thing being done for him (Lk 7:4).…
