Ripon Refugee

Capacity Building Involving the group of refugees in the community of Ripon is very important during the relocation process. One of the key players in involving the refugees is the Ripon College Center for Diversity and Inclusion. This multicultural group does various events on campus to promote diversity as well provide students and faculty with different cultural education opportunities. I plan on getting in contact with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion so together with the refugees they plan different events to involve the families not only with the college community but the greater Ripon community as well. There are two events that can help really involve the refugees within the community. One event is holding a cultural night in the Great Hall with traditional dance and song. Another event that the Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Club can help the refugees hold a potluck with traditional Rwandan food open to college students and community members. Along with cultural events on campus, I want the Ripon community as a whole to celebrate Rwandan Independence Day on July 1st as a way to show the refugees our acceptance and appreciation …show more content…
