Rio Salado: Peer Analysis

Decent Essays
I’m very grateful for Rio Salado using the service of SmartThinking for peer review in my persuasive essay. I was even surprised when I realized that my thesis statement is in the second paragraph when the reviewer pointed it to me, which is a great help of course. In the first essay, the student starts by writing a short summary as to what the article is about. The student then lists the two reasons as to why Foer’s argument is persuasive in a straight-to-the-point, clear, and organized manner. This intro was probably the strongest of the four. However, the second paragraph starts off by writing about how many Americans do not want to accept soccer as a pastime as many other countries have. There is little argument made in this paragraph as to how Foer is persuasive; here it is mostly summary of the article.…

“The Power of One” also demonstrated my improved method of writing my introduction and conclusion paragraphs. I was sure to begin my essay in an interesting way by opening with a rhetorical question. On top of that I introduced the idea of “the power of one” and continued this idea by concluding my essay with it as well. In addition, in “Shift to Reality” I feel my paragraph development was strong and thorough as I examined the depth at which William Golding brings his novel to a satisfying conclusion. On the other hand, I still feel I struggle with sentence structure and awkward wording as shown in my ALS Ice Bucket Challenge essay.…

Before beginning this course, I knew that I lacked confidence within my writing. People say that you are your own worst critique, and I fully agree with that statement. My writing was not terrible in some aspects, but I knew that it needed to be improved upon. I lacked the experience needed because writing was not something that I did on a daily basis. When I first started English 1302, the little confidence that I had significantly plummeted since my writing seemed childish compared to other students.…

Title Enrolling the EOF program has lighten up a path in life that would have gone completely undiscovered had I walked alone. Along the path was my introduction to college writing, a class that has improved my writing skills profoundly. However, with the guidance and instruction given to me by the professor and peers I was able to strengthen my work as a student.…

English 1101 is a course aimed to prepare students for their future writing courses and have the necessary skills for writing college level work. Coming into this course I was hopeful that it would improve my general writing skills since throughout my secondary schooling it was acceptable but not exceptional. My current faults are hindering the comprehensiveness of my writings because readers have to sift through the damage to understand the argument and focus of the topic. While I am able to come up with content my inability to logically put it into a written form is something I intended to improve. After this course I hope to have revamped my former weaknesses so I can be a more clear and cohesive writer for the future…
