Rikkki-Tikki's Human Characteristics

Improved Essays
In the story “Rikki-tikki-tavi” the three main topics we talk about are Rikki tikki,Nagaina, and last the theme of the whole story.
First, Rikki-tikki has many human characteristics. For instance, “I didn’t so you must tell me, quick, Chuchundra or i’ll bite you”(Kipling 14). Even though Rikki-tikki is courageous he is still very aggressive at times with other animals. Instead of speaking nicely to the mouse he threatens chuchundra. Not including all the parts where Rikki-tikki is mean he is mostly caring about others. Another example is “His tail began to fluff up again,”marks or no marks, do you think it is right for you to eat fledglings out of a nest?” This shows that even though Rikki-tikki just moved there he is already defending animals he barely knows. These are the character traits of Rikki-tikki-tavi.

You can already see that nagaina is very rude and evil to everyone else except other snakes. “I am sure to catch you. Little fool look at me!”(Kipling 24). Instead of saying it in such a mean way she could have said it politely to Darzee’s wife. She could have even rephrased it a little to make it sound less rude. Nagaina is very cruel ,but beside that she is very protective as a mother and a wife. She actually admits that she was also getting revenge for her husband’s death when she is almost about to strike at the little boy.“He will have to go away, and then our garden will be our own again”(Kipling 16). They thought it would be a safe place to raise their children that’s why there was no commotion in the first

The Price family's intention to single-handedly convert the natural ways of the Congo acted as a kick-start to Ruth May’s tragic downfall. As the Price family ventured throughout Kilanga they were faced with challenges. The traditional values of the Congolese were foreign to the Price family and their actions brought along consequences. The garden, Nathan planted was a prime example of the force Kilanga has on the Price family. When Nathan set out to plant his garden, “he declared he would make them grow, in the name of God, or he would plant again if only the sun would ever come out and dry up this accursed mire” (Kingsolver 63).…

This brief exchange epitomizes the difference between Roark and Toohey, between selfishness and selflessness, between egoism and altruism, between individualism and collectivism. More importantly, Roark’s simple, but powerful, answer demonstrates why selfishness is a virtue and selflessness a vice; why one represents moral integrity, and the other moral turpitude. Roark’s reply reflects his moral and intellectual independence- he is not defined by what others think- and therein lies the source of his creativity, the very fountainhead of his greatness. This exchange then lies at the very essence of the novel’s theme and is evident right through the book.…

The Spilt Sense In Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, This insight will focus more on the death of Lizaveta as it more notable to how the killer is affected by it. Thus, the killing of Lizaveta with an axe and the subsequent inner struggle of the protagonist reflects his dual personality dilemma more than the killing of Alyona Ivanova. First, Raskolnikov's name means schism which refers to a divided sense that occurs between two entities based on opinions or beliefs. The fact that Raskolnikov is named as such is meant to reflect his split between his emotions and his actions and the way he thinks.…
