Rikki's Mongoe

In a story in India there was a mongoose who was brave and curious. There was also Nagina which was scared and evil. The theme of the story is to protect your family.

First of all,Rikki-Tikki-Tavi the mongoose lives with his adopted family in a bungalow and is going to fight a snake. He is very curious in the story it states ,“If Teddy doesn’t pick him up by the tail or try to put him in a cage he’ll run in and out of the house all day long.’’(Kipling 3)This is showing how if they do not put him in a cage he will keep on going everywhere. Rikki is getting to know that house and is very curious of what everything is. Then Rikki was very brave when he told Nag, “marks or no marks , do you think it is right for you to eat fledglings out of a nest?”(Kipling 8) Rikki is telling Nag why he had eaten the fledglings and how he said it very confident. Rikki was kind of challenging Nag and is trying to get him mad. Rikki loves it with his adopted family in the bungalow in India and is very curious about his surroundings and brave enough to kill three snakes.

Nagaina was very evil she wanted to kill the whole family to have the land all to herself in the story it states, “when the house is emptied of people he will have to go away, and then the garden will be our own again.’’(Kipling 16) This is telling us that she is planning to kill the family and have the garden all to herself. Nagaina is proving that she is a protective mother and is looking out for her children. Nagaina is also very scared of losing her children ,“Nagaina spun, clear round, forgetting everything for the sake of the one egg.”This proves Nagaina is really scared of losing her last baby snake. She is willing to to forget her plan of revenge for that egg she has been waiting for to help her kill. Nagaina is very scared of losing her baby and very evil by trying to kill the
