Paragraph 2:
In Rikki Tikki Tavi the theme is protection of family. The story starts off when a wild mongoose named Rikki is rescued by a man and his family(23). Now Rikki has a family to protect, then Rikki faces Karait and Karait is killed. On pg 29 Rikki kills Nag because Rikki heard Nag whispering to Nagaina "Go in quietly and remember that the big man is the first one to bite". That's how Nag died Rikki knew that they were going to try and kill the family.

"He saved our lives and Teddy's life" pg 34 Rikki cares so much about the family and Teddy has always risked his life for their safety. I feel that Teddy is like a brother to Rikki, pg 29 after Rikki kills Nag Rikki goes to Teddy's bedroom to see if he's okay.
