Right To Regulate The Internet

The government can regulate things like the radio and television because of the FCC. But there is no independent agency that has the right to regulate the internet. The government has no right to control the free flowing web of information we call the internet. It was created as a free place where one could express his or herself in anyway shape or form. The internet cannot and should not be regulated. The North Koreans regulate their internet and they are all commies. America deserves the free internet because of the freedom the country promises. People are worried about cyber bullying and using that as an excuse to make the internet a prison. I get people kill themselves over social media but like that is a whole other case. If MLK had twitter he probably would have made even more of a difference than he had already did. That's the power of the internet. Like one thing can effect everything and that should stay. All the good that comes from that is tremendous. The future leaders will be able to use the internet for so much good and if there is bad things on it physically put a stop to it. So If you regulate the worlds largest microphone you are simply taking away one of Americas core values. I feel that in schools the internet is limited a little too much because I've been doing research and sometimes an educational website is blocked that I need to use for my paper. There is no doubt that a completely free internet at school is a distraction. I played a game called Town of Salem all day every day until it got blocked and I was suffering in chemistry because of that. In schools that heavily rely on technology in the education process the internet should be regulated but not to the point where it hurts students research and complicates the education
