Childhood and Career
Rick Riordan was born in San Antonio, Texas, on 5th June, 1964. He attended the Alamo Heights School in San Antonio, where he worked as the school editor and also won the third prize in the state for the UIL writings. Start of Writing Career
Rick began to enjoy from an early age. Later, when his son Haley suffered from ADHD and dyslexia, he would tell him stories inspired from the Greek mythology. So, to fulfill such story needs for his son, he started inventing characters of Percy Jackson, who was a twelve years boy who discovered himself to be the son of the Greek god. When he completed his story in three nights his son, Haley used to ask him to write down the story as a book. Because of such requests Percy Jackson series came into existence.
This writing of Rick; Percy Jackson and the Olympian series has become so famous that it is available in 37 languages and has sold more than 30 million copies till now.
