Reading Reflection What was the predominant emotion that you experienced in reading these chapters? The more I learn about Richmond’s history the more clueless I feel. This is partially because we were not thought the grim details of the oppression of black people and people never really address how the racism of the past has transitioned into the present. I actually got to meet Benjamin Campbell over spring break and he talked a little bit about what was in his book Richmond’s Unhealed History. Campbell talked a little bit about the wealthy trying to concentrate poverty into one area and that was depicted in the Church Hill plan. Campbell also talked about how this was done purposefully and that makes me disappointed but
