The authors hoped that this article would help move the field of this particular research to a consensus. They also wanted to find a general consensus on when in the lifespan self-esteem was higher and when it was lower. The article sought to figure out if self-esteem was relatively changing or unchanging. I personally would look into why there are drops self-esteem in childhood, adolescence, and old age, in hopes to find an intervention to prevent such declines. I would do a combination of a longitudinal study and cross-sectional study in which I would study the same people for a period of time, as they move from one stage of life to the next, but also many different ages. I would not follow a person through their whole life span because that is not realistic. I would have participants have self esteem tests once a month, along with surveys about their social environment and health questions. With all this data I would hopefully be able to see when these declines begin and make recommendation’s for when and how interventions should be made to lessen the declines of
