Richard Nixon's Political Career

Richard Nixon was born on January 9, 1913, in Yorba Lina, California. He grew up in quit a large family, being the second of five sons to his parents. Nixon’s father struggled to provide for his family, owning a grocery store and gas station, but Nixon saw his parents hard work to help their family that he started to develop a strong ambition to be a hard worker. He attended Whittier College, where he got a taste of politics by joining a debate team and being elected president of the student body. Nixon would then attend Duke University where he earned a law degree.

After college, Nixon went on to continue his political career and in 1952, was asked by Eisenhower to be his vice president during his presidency. Eisenhower and Nixon won
