In June 17th, 1972 five burglars were caught in the Watergate which is located in Washington D.C. The burglars were connected to Richard Nixon’s re-election campaign. The two burglars were caught trying to wiretap phones and stal secret documents. Investigators and historians still do not know if Nixon knew about the operation before it happened, but are aware that Nixon tried to cover it up from it by giving the burglars “hush money”. Richard Nixon did everything he could to hide those tapes and eventually surrender to give some of the tapes over to the Supreme Court. Richard Nixon and some other staff members worked on the scandal together and try to keep it out of the media and hidden that them or Richard Nixon ha nothing to do with the scandal (“Watergate
