Richard Forrester Interview Case Study

In an interview with the owner and operator of Omega Conveyor Constructors, Richard Forrester. When Mr. Forrester opened his company his highest level of education was high school. He has had this business for 27 years. His company is a small corporation. In are interview he opened up about how running a company is a hard responsibility that takes full commitment. He decided to start the business because it was the field that he know more about. When asked my he made his business a corporation he said “because of legal and tax purposes” . He took a little over a year to feel like he had established his company to a point where it was “self-serving”.
Latter we went in deeper to his company we touched on his employs. He has on the average of 15 employs. Latter In the interview we went on to discuss some of the bigger issues that he has rain into while running this company and say “the largest issue that I have and many small companies have is obtaining qualified help”. In new hire he looks at their education, knowledge of the position they have applied for, work history, and attitude toward life. Richard also stated that he will not hire somebody that just goes from one job to the next. Richard said that he dose have a plan for Omega if something happens to him, then company will be passed down to the most capable generation in the family. We also got into a fuller detail of his future in the business. When asked if he has ever planed on fully retiring from the company he responded “When I die. Really, I never fully plan on retiring I will always be a small part of the company.
