Dick began by joining Superior State University in the year of 1938. He then entered a Civilian Pilot instruction curriculum while taking special aviation lessons. In the year of 1941, Richard registered for Air Force. What he had in common with many people is he liked planes (“Sherman”).
On the day June 25th, 1941, Bong single-handedly flew a training biplane. Dick took standard flying lessons near Taft, California with a BT-13. Eventually, Richard took directions toward Luke Field in Arizona,
