Rhodesian Ridgebacks are dogs that were originated in South Africa, Rhodesia, and Zimbabwe. They are known as African Lion Hounds, they are also natural born hunters.These Lion Hounds are kind, strong dogs with ridges on their back. Ridgebacks are great protectors, kind with children, and kind to many other animals. Rhodesian Ridgebacks will not really bark unnecessarily. Also this breed knows to be aggressive toward strangers and unfamiliar animals. These dogs are large dogs. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are lion hounds so they can keep lions at bay. Both dogs grow to be nearly 2 feet long. They both require dry food, and exercise. Since both dogs, both growth patterns are nearly the same as they both will be easy to maintain. But as you know there will always be differences in different dog breeds. First, the German Shepherd sheds more than the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Secondly, they are easier to train while Ridgebacks are a tad bit harder to train. Thirdly, Shepherds need way more exercise than Rhodesian. German Shepherd where one out of many breeds that were hailed from Germany. German Shepherd life span 10 to 14 years, which is (around) 2 more years than a Rhodesian Ridgebacks life. Deafness and dermoid sinus are also occasionally seen in the breed happen/come. To prevent these problems from happening some solutions are. Hiking/jogging, anything physical/mental exercises daily. Make sure their food is good for them. Visit the vet every 3 years or so, unless something is served. Brush dog hair to get rid of dead hair. Take dog a bath every week or two. Only to get all the bad bacteria off the dog so the dog doesn't get sick as a puppy or and older adult dog. Those are very few of the ways to prevent those
