Rhineleppotamus

In science we were told to create a fantasy animal coming other animals. Due to the fact that I am not good at photoshop or drawing I used the internet as my resource. I used switchzoo.com to create my animal. In the end I came up with a rhineleppotamus, head of a white rhino, back and tail of a african elephant body, legs and insides mainly of a hippopotamus. My animal is just like any other animal in it’s habitat.

A rhineleppotamus stands 7 feet 2 inches at the shoulders and weighs about 4,800 pounds. I got it’s height and weight by averaging the average of the three main animals. Rhineleppotamus are large ovals and have thick skin to hold weight and keep bugs out like elephants. It’s horn is made of keratin, just like a rhino's.

When a rhineleppotamus gets hot it sweats this reddish oil that cools itself and keeps them moisturized like a hippo does. A rhineleppotamus walks on four legs, in land it’s running and walking, in the water they almost bounce through the water. Rhineleppotamus will spend most time in the water. Their back has hot spots to keep cool, and occasionally will wallow in mud. All three of those are used also to keep cool just like the red oil sweat.

A rhineleppotamus lives in Southern Africa in the long grassy savanna. The habitat that a rhineleppotamus lives in is very hot during the summer days, it reaches about 90 degrees fahrenheit and about 40 degrees fahrenheit at night. During the winter the high is about 65 degrees fahrenheit with the low being about 30 degrees. The savanna has ponds around where a rhineleppotamus will spend its day hours if not sleeping in the shade. During the day there is lots of sun which is the number one reason for animals to adapt to that factor. There’s a lot of soil and animals feces help add nutrients to the soil. All three animals that make up a rhineleppotamus are all herbivores so automatically this animal is a herbivore. A rhineleppotamus is a 1st order consumer because it eats straight from the

Lemur catta (ring-tailed lemur) is the only species of the genus Lemur that belongs to the family Lemuridae (Groves & Eaglen, 1988). As described by Wilson and Hanlon (2010), this medium-sized strepsirrhine primate is recognized by the black and white rings around its long tail, and are found in the arid forests of southwestern Madagascar, where they move about mostly on the ground but are also partly arboreal (Wilson & Hanlon, 2010). Despite their seeming “abundance” because of their frequent presence in zoos, ring-tailed lemur populations are decreasing in the wild (Wilson & Hanlon, 2010). In 1990, ring-tailed lemurs were listed as “Vulnerable,” but in 2014 their conservation status changed to “Endangered” (IUCN, 2014).…
