An Inconvenient Truth: Rhetorical Description Global warming it is happening what is it and how does it affect them, these are common concerns and questions that come to mind when looking at these posters. While analyzing these two posters, the first thing that is noticeable is one has penguins walking through the desert, and the other has factories and smoke is rolling out of the chimneys. These two posters represent crises that are happening within our climate. What these two posters have in common is, the advertiser wants to reveal the shocking truth behind this crisis by making the viewers aware through shocking images . The meaning behind the poster is supported by showing the viewers group of penguins that are walking through the desert, their once home of icebergs, snow, and water, are gone . This poster suggests that if global warming is “real” this will be their reality. Sea levels will rise from ice melting in the colder regions, which will cause flooding in other regions, and the deserts will be in the longest drought known to man. Global warming is coming, and C02 is polluting our air. The smokestack poster is suggesting that the rising levels of C02 will cause havoc in their environment and targeting the mature audience. There is a storm brewing behind the factories warning them of the potential of natural disasters intensifying due to temperature rising.
