Hartung uses stylistic devices to enhance the underlying message that Trump is not the perfect fit for America’s next president, which is reflected by his previous businesses and policies. The rhetorical questions allows the audience to rethink electing Trump as the next president because the questions gets the audience thinking about the effect and harm that such a weak leader would impact the future of America. The rhetorical question allows the audience a chance to consider the author's points and agree with him because if Trump was unsuccessful with his business and policies, how would he be successful at running a country. The author’s use of “his business” conveys a negative connotation, which symbolizes Trump as a weak and powerless leader that is unable to take control and lead a country to success. This in turn has a convincing effect on the audience because they could reflect back on Trump's actions and reactions to certain situations.
